Washington, D.C., November 5, 2019 – Privacy for America advisor Stu Ingis issued the following statement on the Online Privacy Act introduced today by Reps. Eshoo and Lofgren:
Privacy for America is glad to see two senior lawmakers beating the drum for Congress to take up comprehensive federal privacy legislation. We support the enactment of a strong federal bill that will implement new privacy protections for all Americans nationwide, prohibit harmful uses of personal data and punish those who violate the law. We look forward to reviewing the legislation and finding common ground on a path forward.
